Westminster–in 2001 BICHONS WERE THE BOMB!

My good buddy Billy over at Dog Show Poop has all the latest coverage on the Westminster Dog Show currently going on…but a comment by Salinger reminded me that back in 2001 a Bichon won this show! Ch Special Times Just Right! call name JR. And as it happens in this great cosmic universe, I was contemplating putting a playlist together of videos from this year’s Westminster and the first thing I came across was JR the Bichon winning the Westminster!
OK, now here’s the really crazy karmic part of this. 2001 was the first year of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship…and guess who won?! That’s right! A sweet Bichon named JR!!

Bev, here’s a photo of Scott Sommer with JR at this week’s Angel on a Leash benefit. JR is still going strong with 60 champion offspring. Looks like I’m not the only one enjoying his retirement.
