Gracie sends her best wishes – since she was a rescue she knows how important it is to support the shelters and foster groups. Have a wonderful birthday!

OMG Max the cat (from the "scratching post" shelter)is soooooooo jealous. "Why didn't my Mommy & Daddy get me a cake – all I got was fresh litter in my box…and that didn't last long."

You’ll be happy to know you’re not alone working to better the lives of shelter/rescue/foster dogs.
We work with area shelters to publicize the dogs they have available for adoption, provide temperament testing, and we are working on something very exciting to add to http://spikesshelterdogs.com (I will have to come back and tell you about it when it launches).
I hope you have a great birthday, and I am happy to hear that Dogster made you the dog of the day on this, your 13th birthday.

We just made a contribution to our local shelter – the Humane Society of Montgomery County, VA (http://www.hsmcshelter.com). We will also take a big load of stuff over to their thrift store later this week (and maybe buy some things too – it’s a great store!)

It is late, but not too late to wish you a happy bark I mean birthday from the Fergies. Lots of love from Cincinnati. Annie says HB too – she couldn’t get her computer to work. We’ll think of something creative to do for dogs everywhere, but in the meantime, we’ll rough up some treats for the SPCA!

Heck of an alliteration isn’t it? LOL.
My aunt and uncle have a Bichon named Casper who is about 10 and also a cancer survivor. Unfortunately he had to have his leg amputated as a result of the cancer, but he is doing great.
Bichons are such wonderful, cuddly dogs.
Congratulations on being Dogsters dog of the day! I’m glad you had a great birthday and helped out so many other unfortunate dogs.

You’re inspiring me to give a birthday party for my pup, who turns 4 in April.
Over here at The Portuguese Water Blog I knit blankets for the shelter, all sizes and colors. Then the homeless dogs can have a nice snuggly nest to sleep in. We wish you a very happy birthday.
