The People Behind the Paw: Shelley, Consumer Relations
Shelley (one of my favorite people and a long-time friend) has been part of Pet Care for 16 years.
- Cassie the Cavalier
1. What pets share your life?
We recently brought home an adorable puppy named Cassie. She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Cassie is 4 months old and has fit perfectly into our family. Prior to Cassie, we had a wonderful Cocker Spaniel named Samantha. She lived to be 15 years old and has been gone over 2 years. It took us that long to feel ready to bring home a new 4 legged family member.
2. What is your pet’s most unusual habit?
Cassie surprises us everyday. She loves to watch TV. She tilts her little head and watches golf, football or a movie. I know usually dogs will look at the TV if they hear another dog bark, but Cassie watches it without any barks. It is the cutest thing to watch.
3. What’s your favorite story about pets in the office?
I love it when co-workers bring in their pets. It makes the day fun. Our team use to be featured on the Iams website and we would have photo shoots. It was uncanny how much my co-workers look like their pets, me included!
4. How does your job at Pet Care make a difference?
I really feel that the work I do makes a difference in people’s life’s. I am so fortunate to work for a brand that has always had high integrity and would never compromise on the quality of the products. Samantha lived to be 15 and I firmly believe it is mostly due to the excellent nutrition in Eukanuba. She ate nothing else. You would say the word “Eukanuba” and she would dance. That and of course lots of love.
