Jen and Louie

Jen (one of my favorite teammates!) has been part of Pet Care for 2.5 years.

1. What pets share your life?
Get ready for a list!

The cats:
Lenny & Louie:  10-years old, Shorthair Tiger Striped brothers;  I was a foster Mom to them and could never give them up!
Oliver:  12-years old, Beige Long Hair;  he was the store cat at the pet store I worked at and one night someone tried to steal him!  So I took him home with me.
Chunk:  Old?  All white with blue eyes, just showed up one day, walked in the front door with the dogs and never left.  That was over 10 years ago.
Double-Stuff Oreo:  7-years old, looks like Sylvester the Cat, has multiple personality disorder :-)

The dogs:
Sedona: 4-years old,  Aussie- doesn’t understand that she is a dog.
Stan: 13-14 years old, Cocker Mix, rescue- doesn’t care that he is a dog, just wants to sleep and eat.
Wally: 10-years old Shitzu, rescue- just doesn’t care!

The farm animals:
Kiser:  19-years old; Thoroughbred, rescue….thanks to Sharon in Pet Care Consumer Relations that told me about him!  She knows a sucker when she sees one!
Simon:  Old!?  Cantankerously vocal donkey who is the center of EVERYONES attention

Simon & Ramsey

Silas & Ramsey:  Pygmy goats….they are just here for fun.
Gladys & Mable:  our two Cows that sometimes confuse Silas the pygmy goat as a bull ;-)
Countless laying hens

 2. What is the funniest thing your pet has ever done?
I think we have discovered why our Thoroughbred horse was never raced….Kiser has a bad habit of falling asleep when he doesn’t want to do something.  You go to put a saddle on him, he nods off.  The farrier comes to trim his feet, by the 3rd hoof, Kiser is nodding off….we figure it has worked well in the past for him…

3. What’s your favorite story about participating in a dog/cat event?
I really enjoy working our Bark in the Park events at the Red’s Games…it is so much fun to see all the dogs dressed in their little Red’s uniforms, sitting in the stadium during the game.  But the best part is if there is a home run and the fireworks go off- all the dogs start to howl!

I also enjoy the shelter rehab program- I am looking forward to rehabbing the PAWS Shelter- I used to volunteer there years ago!

4. What is your favorite part of working at Pet Care?
I really appreciate working for a company that is a leader in animal nutrition that is based on science, that cares about animal welfare, supports shelter events and runs the biggest adoption event through Iams Home 4 the Holidays.
