Is Sunny the right dog for you?
Sunny is a wonderful, older male Bichon, whose birthday is March 28, 2001. He weighs about 16 lbs. He was surrendered by his older owner when she could no longer care for him. Sunny has allergy problems, but has doing well in his foster home. He is taking Benadryl twice a day and his feet are wiped with a wet wipe, as his biggest problem is grass. He is also on a limited ingredient diet and that may have helped. It is believed he was raised as an only dog, but has adjusted well to the other dogs in his foster home, even learning to play and often sharing his crate at night.
He would do well as an only dog, but would probably be fine with another submissive dog in the home. He grumbles at the other dogs and his foster mom believes this is his way of talking, as he has all kinds of tones and pitches-she sometimes calls him Scooby-doo because of this. He likes to play with toys and tug of war. Sunny is potty trained, but sometimes marks in the house, which is likely a result of the other male dogs in the home. If it continues in his new forever home, a belly band would help this situation. Sunny likes to have some cuddle time with his foster mom and almost hugs her. He enjoys watching TV and will do the bichon wave and bark at any animals he sees. Sunny is an awesome dog and will make a great pet!

Sweet Shea come to Small Paws Rescue from a commercial puppy mill rescue and must be placed in a home with a socialized dog already living there. The children in the home must be over the age of 10.
My name is Shea, a male Bichon . I was born September 8, 1998.
I used to be in a not so nice place for a long time. Then some very nice people got me out of there, cleaned me up and made me feel better. Then I got to come to a foster home. I have foster brothers and sisters to play with. I have my very own solar powered re-charging station, my pillows and blankets to relax and recline on. I am still timid, but I don’t run around like I used to when it’s time for my heart worm pill and flea treatment.
I sit up on my back legs and wave at you, Dad says I look like a Meercat. Especially if you have treats! I have a very special job here. I am a home alarm system. I let Dad and Mom know when someone comes to the steps. I also smile (kinda). I’m still very afraid of outside and my leash is NOT my friend. I have issues with that wide open spaces thing. It’s too big. If you would be patient with me and not force things, I’ll be fine. All I ask is a secure fenced in back yard. A pillow or two. Yes, I’m still scared, but I’ve came a long long way. I’m smart, very smart. I don’t mind cats, older children that don’t run around fast.

Suga is a quiet old girl ready to keep you company.
Suga is a female Bichon who was born in 1999. She weighs about 16 pounds.
Suga loves going for her walks and does very well on car rides. She does not use a dog door but is able to go to the back door when she needs to go and take care of “her business”.
Suga would do well as an only dog. She is very quiet and reserved, and does not bark very often. Suga would do best in a home without children Her hearing is not 100 per cent but she does well in spite of it.
Suga loves snacks and sleeping with you in bed. We do not know how she would react to cats.

Digit is a senior Bichon lady born in 1996.
Due to a mouth infection, she had to have her teeth removed, however, that doesn’t stop her from living a good life and eating everything she’s fed. Digit loves to eat, in fact she needs to lose a few pounds. She currently weighs in at 19 pounds.
Digit doesn’t hear very well, but she can see well and knows what is going on at all times. She is house broken and likes to explore the fenced in yard.
Digit has a very sweet disposition and gets along well with other dogs, but she would also be a good only pet. Digit isn’t very happy when she is left alone, so he will need a home where someone is home most of the time. Children in the home should be aged 3 and over.
She’s a sweet older lady looking for her furever home.

Here’s a sweet little old lady who just wants to spend time with you!
Shuffles is a female Bichon born in 2000 and weighs about 22 pounds. She has only one eye but navigates well. Shuffles is a delightful senior lady who enjoys leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, friendly encounters with other mellow dogs, being close to her people, and, of course, being told how pretty and good she is! (What girl doesn’t appreciate a compliment!?!) She gets along well with other dogs but would also do well as your only. She is eager to please, obedient, and very loving. Her idea of a perfect day would be to lounge on a pillow near you while you read, garden or watch TV. We haven’t observed her with children so those in your home should be aged 10 and over. Shuffles would most likely be house trained if kept on a regular schedule and taken on regular walks, she will use a potty pad indoors.

Here’s a sweet Fluff needing a home!
Tanner is a darling little (about 12 lbs) Bichon/Poodle mix. He is an explosion of apricot curls. Hes really quite hilarious, with his disheveled look and wagging tail! Tanner was born sometime in 2002. He’s a loveable baby. He loves to sit in his foster mommy’s lap and cuddle. She can carry him in her arms like a baby. He’s anxious to please. Tanner needs a loving, patient mom or dad who can understand his needs because his cataracts are severe enough that he bumps into furniture if he doesn’t know the territory.
Once he is familiar with the house, he does much better. Tanner would very much enjoy a home with other dogs so that he can follow their activities. He sleeps on his foster parents bed in his little dog bed and is quiet all night. He is working hard on his house training and doing well. Children in your home should be aged 10 and over. Hes a good little watch dog too! If you have a big heart and think Tanner is for you, we’ll be happy to tell you more.

Mabbi and Chachi are a bonded pair–that means they must be adopted together and their new lucky family will get two Fluffs for the price of one!

Chachi? or is this Mabbie?
Mabbi, was born sometime in 1998 and weighs about 10 pounds. She appears to be a Bichon/Maltese mix. She is somewhat shy and will run when you try to pick her up, but when you approach her with a leash she stops and drops her head so you can connect it. She will sit in your lap or lay on your legs, especially if Chachi is there. At dinner time you don’t have to call her, she is always ready to eat. Mabbi is quite spry and enjoys playing.

Mabbie? or is this Chachi? They're so bonded, I can't tell!
Chachi is a big boy, weighing over 25 pounds. He was born in 2003. Chachi constantly plays with the other Bichons in his foster home. Chachi has a problem with one back leg and one of his front legs looks like it is deformed or has been broken, but he isn’t lame or crippled. He is a joy to have around and mothers over Mabbi.
A large house or a fenced yard is a must as this pair enjoy blitzing and playing. Mabbi and Chachi are house trained if taken outside every 2 to 3 hours.

Little Selena had a bad start in life–a commercial puppy mill. She needs another dog to teach her how to be a pet, so she can only be placed with a family who already have a socialized dog living with them.

Selena loves meeting new dogs and is especially fond of going to the dog park as often as possible. This little angel will need a fenced yard and someone that is home most of the time. Her Foster parents continue to work with Selena on her house training, leash walking, and socialization. Selena has a natural curiosity that is helping her to come out of her shell.

This sweet flower has been waiting for her furever home for a long time. Don’t you need a little Fluff in your life?
Petunia is a female,Bichon/Maltese mix and was born July 4, 1997. She weighs approximately 16 pounds and is a friendly, gentle and affectionate girl. She was rescued because her owner could no longer take adequate care of her.
Petunia is diabetic, but requires only two quick injections, in the morning and in the evening. She also has compromised eyesight due to age, but one would never know it once she gets the lay of the land. She is housetrained and is good while we’re gone all day. She rides well in the car, barks occasionally, and likes to go for walks on a leash (although she can be a bit stubborn when she wants to stop along the way). She is willing to be crated at night as well. She does well with other dogs and people and children aged 10 and over ; not sure about cats. Petunia will need a home with another dog. She (adorably) stands up on her hind legs and waves her paws if she wants something. She likes to be with her person and be petted and loved.

Are you looking for a Fluff with lots of energy? A sweet little guy who loves to play? Bentley may be the right match for you!
Hi! I’m Bentley and I’m a male Bichon born in 2010. I am a sweet little boy who loves people and all dogs. My owners turned me in because I had “too much energy” for them. I am young and like to have fun. I will need an owner who can handle my energy spurts and likes to play with me. I love to run and chase tennis balls. I will go potty sometimes outside in a fenced backyard, but need to be walked on a leash to really use the bathroom. I do love to sleep in bed with my foster parents and love to give kisses just so you know I love you.
My foster parents think I’m one of the most happy go lucky personalities. I love to jump and do the Bichon ballet when I’m tempted with treats and when you come home. When I’ve been exposed to cats, I like to bark and growl and chase them, so my foster parents don’t think I’ll be good with a cat. I used to be a solo dog, but do great with multiple dogs in a home too. I will need some work on walking on a leash without pulling and polish up my basic commands. I do know “sit”! Since I have not been exposed to kids under 10 I will need to be in a home with children over the age of 10. Sometimes I’ve had accidents at home so I will need to be walked every 4 hours if you are gone for a long time or trained to use a puppy pad.
