More On Tyler

June 7th, 2010 Bev 5 comments

Less than 48 hours and already Tyler is settling into his new home. I did some catch-up yesterday at my desk, and even though the bed says “Bailey” Tyler had no problem using it!

Tyler relaxes.

Tyler relaxes under my desk.

Tyler on duty, ready to answer all your dog-related questions.

Bailey still holds her spot in my heart. But Tyler is making his own space there, too.

I think I’m going to have to break down and buy a new video camera. My Flip cam is just not as friendly as I want it to be, and the quality is not as good as what I can do with my cheap digital camera.

Here’s Tyler’s first Bichon blitz in his new home!

MEET TYLER, THE NEW ADDITION TO MY FAMILY!

Tyler

This is Tyler Small Paws!

This is my reason for coming to Phoenix. Tyler is a Small Paws rescue Bichon (probably mix), who is between 3 and 4 months old. And he’s found his furever home with me!!

We’re both getting to know each other, and I haven’t been able to take any good photos yet, but here’s a few that I just shot as Tyler was dropping off into a nap.

Tyler explores his Sherpa bag

We will be flying home to Dayton tomorrow morning by way of Atlanta, and right now I’d like to beg all the folks who will be traveling with us to be kind–Tyler is only a baby and I anticipate that we will have some vocalization from him on the plane. He’s such a cutie though though that I’m hoping the airline people take pity on us and let me hold him for a while as we fly.

Sleepy puppy!

I’m staying at the Crown Plaza right next to the Phoenix airport and they have treated us like gold. We have a lovely king size bed with lots of pillows–as I write this Tyler is sleeping on the bed surrounded by pillows with pee pads beneath him. His foster mom, Mikele (a woman with a beautiful soul), said he had a big play session before she brought him to me, so he’s tuckered out.

My puppy has found me!

Jen Visits the Everything Pets Expo in Cincinnati!

In early April, while I attended  BlogPaws in Columbus, my teammate Jen attended the Everything Pets Expo in Cincinnati. Here’s what she had to say about it:

Jen and Louie-King-of-the-Cats

The weekend of April 9-11 was the Iams Everything Pets Expo at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati.  This was an Expo packed with exciting Air Dogs, lovable dogs, cats and foals that needed homes, and even a few marsupial-reptile-amphibian attractions to please everyone!

Iams was the Sponsor of the Event and took center stage with games and giveaways.

First up is Ultimate Air Dogs!  A lot of the dogs were there showing off for the crowd.  These dogs were amazing and made me want to go home and encourage my dogs to get off the couch!

There were a lot of Rescue Organizations attending the Expo.  What a great way to get the word out on all of the cats and dogs available for adoption!

Grrand Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption had two wonderful Golden Ambassadors attending; you just couldn’t get enough of these two guys:

Golden Retrievers

Purrfect Feline Friends Cat Rescue had some of the most laid back kitties…they did not care at all about the commotion around them!  They were just looking for a home to call their own!

Lucky Chin Japanese Chin Rescue pulls dogs from auctions and puppy mills.  They had a few along looking for a good home!

So your house is already full with cats & dogs?  How about a horse?  Great!  We have that covered too.  Beechmont Stables & Rescue had 3 week old Nurse Mare Foals in attendance!  Now if you don’t look at these pictures and say ‘Aww’ to yourself….

Another popular organization was Sugar Gliders R Us; you just could not get enough of these little marsupials!  They even shared their prickly Hedgehog friend, although I’m not convinced that he was thrilled with being disturbed from his nap…

Last, but not least, was one of the most educational attendees.  Cool Critters Outreach is a reptile education and rescue organization that supports educational animal experiences for classrooms and beyond!

OK, this whole encounter just made me smile..

Every year the Iams Everything Pets Expo grows, and we are very excited to see what will happen next year.

THE BICHON BASH ENDS TODAY!

SMALL PAWS BICHONS ARE LOOKING FOR FUREVER HOMES!
Are you looking for a sweet, fluffy, charming companion? These little dogs are looking for people who will love them and a family they can join!

Buffy is extremely bright, catching on to things very quickly. Buffy gets along with everyone he meets. He is in a foster home with cats, and he is fine with them. He's very laid back and mellow. He'd be a perfect apartment dog because he's great on a leash! He stays right by you, and looks up to you for direction, instead of dragging you along.

Shaundra is a very sweet and friendly girl who really loves people. She is a bichon/ poodle mix with long legs and a long tail. She has cream and apricot coloring. Her favorite game is chasing a ball around the house, but she also likes to sort thru the toy box to pick out a stuffed toy.

Two Days Left to the Bichon Bash Fundraiser!

Hi my name is Liza (Ly-za) and I am a female Bichon/Lhasa Apso mix. I have pretty brown eyes, brown nose and lips, and a cute under bite. I tend to be a slow eater because of my under bite, but that doesn't stop me from the goodies.

My name is Star, a male Bichon/Poodle. I get along well with other dogs and cats but would also do well as your only pet. My favorite time of the day is when I get cuddles and kiss' from my foster mom. I have so much fun when the grandchildren come over, they play with me or just let me sit in their laps.
